Yasmins is a family-run entity registered with ACCRA/Bizfile Singapore as 'Leopard Lily Beauty Services'. We are qualified Beauty Specialist, Massage Therapist, Aroma and Flower Essence Therapy practitioners and also skincare guinea pigs (yup, we test all our products on ourselves). We started this venture as part of our passion and interest in natural and organic skincare and herbal remedies for common skin problems. Some of us have very sensitive skin and are prone to contact dermatitis, asthma and allergic reactions to chemicals in sprays and skin/hair products. That started our search for quality, affordable and certified skincare from reliable manufacturers in Australia, USA, Europe and Africa. Our African products are purchased from members of Fair-Trade and Phyto-Trade networks.
Our products are also Shariah compliant in that they do not contain animal by-products in any form (except beeswax) nor do we sell products that are produced by unfair trade practices and cause human or animal suffering. We hope to continue striving and raising
awareness on the dangers of using chemical-laden skin products. For halal/vegan product users, do note that Hyaluronic Acid aka Sodium Hyaluronate used by other skincare brands is usually a humectant polymer derived from rooster comb (i.e. animal source) and would not be halal-compliant unless verified by a recognized Islamic halal committe. Ours is a vegan version made from plant extracts.
We work hard to keep our prices as low as possible by keeping packaging and labeling simple and appropriate to the ingredients. As we keep our stocks low to maintain freshness, we do spend a substantial sum on air freight charges from overseas, so please don't compare our prices to chain-stores. We cater to a niche market and don't enjoy the economies of scale of chain-stores & big distributors who also carry chemically laden products to increase sales revenues. Our philosophy is to help raise awareness among South-East-Asians about what organic and natural skincare really is, instead of what big-brand conglomerate advertising tells them it should be. We still have day jobs so we can continue to maintain this venture and continue to increase public awareness.
Rest assured that profit alone cannot be the main motivation to go into this venture unless one is a conglomerate, multinational pharmaceutical or a major brand. You must have a passion for the practice of natural therapies and skincare. We tell you what corporate advertising doesn't tell you - that organic & natural skincare cannot contain petro-chemicals, chemical alcohols, artificial fragrances, artificial colors, mineral oils and a lot of artificial preservatives. All these chemicals are absorbed into your blood stream over time and can cause hormonal imbalance and other forms of long-term medical problems.
If you benefit from any of our products, we hope you will tell your friends, family and colleagues about us. If you have a specific non-medical skin concern, let us know and we will try to find a remedy for you from a reliable and reputable source. Even though we are small, we do try to provide samples and testers to ensure customers don't end up spending money on products that don't suit their skin/hair. This adheres to our company philosophy of being honest in our business, even though it doesn't profit us in the short term. Please email us if you wish to try a sample.
